Underground Resistance is in all probability the to the highest degree militantly political rock outcrop of advanced urban American techno. Combining a raunchy, four-track aesthetic, an intimately strictly DIY business sector philosophy, and an oppositional, militaristic ethos similar to Public Enemy without the drama (or the conversance; the members refuse to be photographed without bandanas obscuring their identities), UR have redirected their share of the Detroit techno legacy to social warring ends, trading mainstream popularity and fiscal winner for independence and self-rule. Begun in the early '90s by second-wave sacred Trinity Jeff Mills, "Mad" Mike Banks, and Robert "Noise" Hood, UR altered the flavour and give up of early Detroit techno to the composite social, political, and economic circumstances in the wake of Reagan-era accelerated inner city decline, and was formed as an outlet for uncompromising music geared toward sentience and change.

The early UR catalogue is defined by a typically Detroit combination of Motown and Chicago soul, and unpitying, at times sulfurous lo-fi techno, acrid, and electro (Mills' background knowledge is in, among former things, Chicago industrial and EBM-style electro-techno, with Banks and Hood both approach from a satisfying house and techno base). Much of the label's early output was the mathematical product of assorted permutations of Banks, Mills, and Hood, both solo and in combination, earlier Mills and Hood left UR in 1992 to pursue (and attain) international success. Banks continued to manoeuvre UR in the waken of the split, releasing EPs such as "Render of Acid Rain," "Message to the Majors," and "Coltsfoot to Galaxy" under the UR streamer, as well as 12-inches by progressively illustrious artists such as Drexciya. Although UR stiff largely distant of the more high profile American and European scenes, UR releases have once in a while leaked into various, relatively more establishmentarian contexts (commonly below the pretext of "reconnaissance" or "infiltration"), with the noted German techno tag Tresor reissuing 12-inches from the early UR catalog and the React label compilation featuring undivided tracks from Banks and other UR artists. The number one actual full-length credited to Underground Resistance was 1998's Interstellar Fugitives. [Realise Also: "Demented" Mike Banks]

'Sullivan Show' Elvis photo to go on sale

Singer reacts to host telling him to non shake hips

It was Oct. 26, 1956, seven weeks after Elvis Presley's number one appearance on "The Ed Sullivan Show."

The legion didn't really want the hip-shaking tilt 'n' roll up star gage on the family-friendly show, but big ratings beckoned. Sullivan corralled the King during dry run and made it clear that he couldn't do that affair with his hips.

The 21-year-old's reaction to Sullivan is priceless. Photos of that new World chat and other behind-the-scenes shots from that memorable night recently resurfaced after a half-century and are being made useable to the public.

Young photographer Richard Weede was allowed on set for the rehearsal because his father, Robert Weede, world Health Organization was starring in "The Most Happy Fella" on Broadway, besides was appearing on the show that night. The negatives Weede snapped were relegated to a service department until his son plant them in February 2007.

Limited-edition sets of ternion and six of the images are being made available at VintageKingPictures.com. The site is expected to go live by future week.

Gerard Butler - Butler Scared Off Dream Girl

Movie hunk GERARD BUTLER is desperately seeking a mystery girl he accidentally scared away during a dream date.

The 300 star made the mistake of dashing to the bathroom during a meal, while his date was away from their table. When he returned, his dream girl had fled.

Single Butler, who was recently linked to Cameron Diaz, explains, "A few years ago, I went out with a girl and we were having a great time. I remember thinking, `I really got this.'

"She went to the toilet, and I thought, `You know what? I'm also going to the toilet.'

"Maybe I took a little longer to get out of there than I thought. I came back and she was nowhere to be seen. I never saw her again! We went from having a great date to completely losing each other."

Butler refuses to name his mystery date.
